INCONEL(nickel-chromium-iron) alloy 600 is a standard engineering material for applications which require resistance to corrosion and heat. The alloy also has excellent mechanical properties and presents the desirable combination of high strength and good workability. The versatility of INCONEL alloy 600 has led to its use in a variety of applications involving temperatures from cryogenic to above 2000°F(1095°C).
Product description:
Alloy 600 is resistant to corrosion by many organic and inorganic compounds and also makes it vitually immune to chlo-rideion stress-corrosion cracking, Alloy 600 is used extensively in the chemica industry for its strength and corrosion resistance. Applications include heaters, stils, bubble towers, and condensers for processing of fatting acids and so on.
Product characteristics:
INCONEL 600 alloy has the following characteristics:
1. It has good resistance to the corrosion of reduction, oxidation and nitriding media
2. It has good resistance to stress corrosion cracking at room temperature and high temperature
3. Has good resistance to dry chlorine gas and hydrogen chloride gas corrosion performance
4. It has good mechanical properties at zero, room temperature and high temperature
It has good creep fracture strength and is recommended for use in working environments above 700℃.
Metallographic structure:
600 is a face-centered cubic lattice structure.
Corrosion resistance:
600 alloy has corrosion resistance to various corrosive media. The composition of chromium gives the alloy better corrosion resistance under oxidation conditions than nickel 99.2 (alloy 200) and nickel 99.2 (alloy 201, low carbon). At the same time, the high nickel content makes the alloy have good corrosion resistance in reducing conditions and alkaline solutions, and can effectively prevent chlorine-iron stress corrosion cracking. 600 alloy has good corrosion resistance in acetic acid, acetic acid, formic acid, stearic acid and other organic acids, and has medium corrosion resistance in inorganic acids. The high purity water used in the primary and secondary cycles of nuclear reactors has excellent corrosion resistance
