Inconel230 is a carbide strengthened Ni-Cr-W alloy, the alloy has excellent strength and high temperature resistance (≥980℃) oxidation function, and the appearance of outstanding metallurgical stability, through the conventional process and method is very simple to produce. The alloy combines outstanding high temperature strength, creep resistance, durability and corrosion resistance, and has an attractive prospect for use at temperatures above 980 ° C.
Alloy 230 is a nickel-chromium-tungsten-molybdenum alloy that combines excellent high temperature strength, outstanding resistance to nitriding environments and excellent long term thermal stability. Alloy 230 is easily fabricated and has very good forming and welding characteristics. Due to Alloy 230 combined properties it is very well suited to a wide variety of component applications in the aerospace and power industries. Alloy 230 is used for combustion cans, transition ducts, flame holders, thermocouple sheaths and other important gas turbine components. Haynes alloy 230 is solution treated at 2150 to 2275°F followed by rapid cooling, and is supplied in this condition (as per AMS 5891 and AMS 5878). Alloy 230 can be both hot worked and cold worked and all parts should be annealed and rapidly cooled in order to restore the best balance of properties.

The thermal working characteristics are similar to those of Inconel617 and 625. The alloy can be processed in the temperature range of 1010 ~ 1230℃ for large deformation, and can be processed in the temperature range of 954℃ for small deformation. Although it is easy to cold work the alloy by conventional processes, the work hardening rate of the alloy is high. To achieve good results, the alloy should be cold worked under fine crystal conditions, and multiple intermediate annealing should be used. The annealing temperature before processing should be 1066 ~ 1149℃ to avoid coarse crystal structure.
Applications include terrestrial gas turbine components and equipment, as well as equipment and components for petrochemical processing, heat treatment, ore and metal refining
