Hastelloy B-3: Superior nickel-based alloy known for its exceptional resistance to corrosive environments, including strong acids such as hydrochloric, sulfuric, and phosphoric acid. With its high molybdenum and chromium content, it offers excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Suitable for a wide range of industries, including chemical processing, petrochemical, and power generation. Provides long-lasting performance and reliability in demanding applications where corrosion resistance is paramount.
Product Description:
1, B-3 alloy is a new member of the nickel-molybdenum alloy family, it has excellent corrosion resistance to any temperature and concentration of hydrochloric acid. At the same time, it also has good corrosion resistance to sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, phosphoric acid and other non-oxidizing media.
2. Due to the adjustment of its chemical composition, its thermal stability has been greatly improved compared with the original B-2 alloy. B-3 alloy has high resistance to pitting corrosion, stress corrosion, knife edge corrosion and welding heat affected zone corrosion.

Metallographic structure:
HASTELLOY B-3 has a face-centered cubic lattice structure. The iron and chromium content of the alloy is kept to a minimum, thus preventing the precipitation of the NI4MO phase at 700-800 ° C, thereby reducing the risk of process embrittlement.
Corrosion resistance:
HASTELLOY B-3 maintains excellent plastic properties when exposed to medium temperature instantaneously; Excellent resistance to pitting corrosion and stress corrosion cracking; Excellent resistance to knife-edge corrosion and heat-affected zone corrosion; Excellent resistance to acetic acid, acetic acid, phosphoric acid and other non-oxidizing acids; Excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid corrosion at various concentrations and temperatures;
Application field:
B-3 alloy can be used for all previous uses of B-2 alloy, like B-2 alloy I, B-3 is not recommended for use in the presence of trivalent iron and bivalent copper salts, because these salts will quickly cause corrosion damage. When hydrochloric acid comes into contact with iron and copper, it reacts with them to form ferric and copper salts.
