HASTELLOY C2000 is a versatile alloy that provides high resistance to a variety of chemicals, including sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and other strongly acidic media. Highly resistant in both reducing and oxidizing environments, the material is designed to resist more corrosive chemicals, including sulfuric, hydrochloric, and hydrofluoric acid. Unlike previous optimized NI-CR-MO alloys, which only resist oxidizing or reducing acids, C-2000 alloys are resistant to corrosion in both environments. The combined action of MO and CU(at the level of 16% and 1.6% respectively) gives the alloy excellent resistance to the corrosion of reducing media, while the high chromium content (23%WT) guarantees the resistance to the corrosion of oxidizing media.

Application scope
HASTELLOY C2000 offers great potential for increased production. When used in NI-CR-MO alloys, its enhanced corrosion resistance allows for longer equipment life at the same material thickness and a higher safety factor in harsher conditions. Improved corrosion resistance in all aspects allows the equipment to be used for multiple purposes (reactors, heat exchangers, valves, pumps, etc.), thus receiving a greater return on investment. For example, a reactor can be adapted to a mixture of hydrochloric acid and then converted to another mixture of nitric acid. Due to its ability to coaxed, C-2000 is the best nickel-based alloy material that can be adapted to a variety of processes.
