Hastelloy C22: Versatile nickel-based alloy with exceptional resistance to various corrosive environments. Offers superior protection against pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Widely used in chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, and pollution control. Known for its excellent weldability and fabricability. Trusted for reliability in aggressive environments where corrosion resistance is paramount.
Product Description:
Hastelloy C22 is a highly versatile nickel-based alloy known for its exceptional corrosion resistance. It outperforms other nickel-chrome-molybdenum alloys like Hastelloy C276, C4, and 625. With excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, it withstands oxidizing water media, including wet chlorine and nitric acid. It is also suitable for reducing and oxidizing environments encountered in various processes. Hastelloy C22 finds applications in challenging environments and multipurpose plants. It exhibits exceptional resistance to a wide range of chemicals, including strong oxidizing substances like ferric chloride and copper chloride. Its resistance to grain boundary precipitation formation makes it ideal for welded applications in chemical processes.
Corrosion resistance:
HASTELLOY C-22 alloy is suitable for various chemical process industries containing oxidizing and reducing media. The high chromium content makes the alloy resistant to chloride ions, and the tungsten element further improves its corrosion resistance. HASTELLOYC-22 is one of the only materials that can resist the corrosion of humid chlorine gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions, and the alloy has significant corrosion resistance to high concentrations of salt chloride solutions (such as ferric chloride and copper chloride).
Application field:
HASTELLOY C-22 alloys are widely used in chemical and petrochemical applications, such as in components and catalytic systems that are exposed to chlorinated organics. This material is especially suitable for use in high temperature, inorganic and organic acids (such as formic acid and acetic acid) mixed with impurities, and seawater corrosion environment.
